We've compiled a set of frequently-asked questions our customers had about their photoshoots and have provided some answers here which might help you as well.

What should I look for when hiring a photographer?

There's a wide range of things you should consider when you make this choice, including the following:

  • the photographer’s attention to visual detail - for example, what they show on their website,
  • the quality of their work and whether it's as beautiful as it could be,
  • the reviews and recommendations they've had from their actual customers.

To help you decide what to look for, we've therefore prepared a detailed post on How should I choose a photographer?

What type of photoshoots do you offer?

We work with a wide range of adults - from couples and siblings, who want a photoshoot of the two of them together, through to women or men who want a solo photoshoot. Adults usually want a variety of different types and styles of photoshoots - some for their own personal use, others want to share photos of themselves with their family, some want to create a portfolio for their acting, musician, dancing portfolio, while others need a set of professional headshots for their work. So we provide a wide range of photoshoots to suit all of these needs.

There's a wide range of options:

  • indoors at your home, if you have the space, as we have a professional mobile studio,
  • outdoors at your home, if you have a garden,
  • in an outdoor rural location, with natural backgrounds,
  • in an outdoor urban location,
  • or at work,

These galleries will give you a good idea of the differences between each type of location:

What time of day is best for a photoshoot?

A lot of it depends on your personal preference. Depending on the time of year, and the weather, the magical times of day can be early in the morning after sunrise and later in the day, a couple of hours before sunset. Take a look at these blog posts, which will give you a better idea of the:

How do you help someone who's a little shy or lacking in confidence?

We've worked with lots of people, young and old, and by far the most common thing with everyone is that when they turn up they feel shy, nervous, unsure or less confident than they normally are in a social situation. We know that's how people feel and we know that it's perfectly normal. So before we start we'll just have a natter about any old thing that we can think of - it's just a way of helping you get comfortable. Then, when we start taking photos, we'll do so gradually, to help you gain more confidence. We do this all the time and we've found it always works. The following posts goes into how we do this in more detail, which you might find helpful and reassuring: How we increase someone's confidence at a photoshoot

How long will the photoshoot last?

Generally our couple photoshoots last for around 1-1.5 hours, whereas our solo photoshoots might last for around an hour. We feel this gives you 10 minutes or so to 'settle in' and feel comfortable before we start to get some great photos - for us it's all about getting you to relax and be comfortable, as that way the photos will look extra great. We also offer two longer deluxe photoshoots that allow for longer sessions, which allow us to capture a much wider range of photos, including the possibility of working at more than one location, or using a change in outfit.

Where can I read what other customers have said about working with you?

We carried out a survey of more than 60 customers, where we asked them to give us their honest reviews about what it was like working with us, how they felt about the beautiful photos they received, whether they would recommend us and what their overall rating was for the service we provide to our customers. The results of this survey were that 97% of our customers gave us a rating of 8 out of 10 or higher, with all of them rating us at least 7. You can take a look at our customer reviews here.
